Here's a storyboard of the general design of my website. It shows a brief description of each page and its function, showing how each page links together.

Preliminary Task - Unconventional Websites

Here are two examples of unconventional websites. They are not school websites but are both good examples of websites which break normal conventions, and contrast to the other websites i included below. Both of these above examples show how the websites have based their design on style rather than functionality, making the websites look as asthetically pleasing as possible. The top one is very unconventional, with the navigation bar in the centre of the page, rather than at the top or side.

Preliminary Task 1 Research

For the first task i had to look at and analyse some different school websites, compaing each one of the basic conventions of this type of website. I based my analysis on the layout of the website, the different links on the page, the pictures and colours included on the homepage and the navigation and ease of use of the websites.

The first School website I chose to analyse and annotate was Jordan Hill School in Glasgow. It showed many of the conventional trends seen in most other school websites.




I then looked at the Leeds Grammar School. This also showed typical school website conventions that show up in other websites of the same type




Finally, I looked at Robert Pattinson School's website. Once again, this website homepage showed typical school website conventions.
